Winter is finally letting us out of it’s clutches and it’s time for smooth skin – enter the sugar scrubs! If you use a sugar scrub 2x per week combined with body butter for the extra dry places, within 2 weeks the dry patches will smooth out! Sugar scrubs are one of my favorite beauty products because I’m lazy in that department! They do an awesome job of exfoliating while deeply moisturizing my skin from top to bottom. I know I sound like a broken record, but I love anything that is 2 for 1 – time saving and highly effective leaves me more free time. Sugar scrubs are also the easiest homemade beauty product to make. They take just minutes to make, and it costs pennies on the dollar compared to store prices! I’ve also found that homemade sugar scrubs are way more effective. I like knowing exactly what’s in my skin care products because I have sensitive skin that reacts to almost every store bought product, (even the natural ones) I’ve ever purchased. It might seem daunting at first to make your own products. But once you see how easy they are to make, you’ll never want to go back.
Now let’s jump in and make this Tangerine Dream Sugar Scrub step by step!
Start by mixing together the coconut oil and sugar until the coconut oil is thoroughly incorporated. I like to use the back of a spoon to mash them together. Then add the zest and essential oil. When it’s well mixed, have a smell and see if you might want to add more scent. Finally, keep your sugar scrub in an airtight container. If it gets moisture in it, it clumps into hard sugar rocks that don’t work well for exfoliation. Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and this makes an excellent homemade gift, especially for new mother’s that need some pampering! 5 from 1 review 1/2 cup coconut oil 2 Tablespoons tangerine zest 1/2 Teaspoon tangerine essential oil Stir in the tangerine zest and essential oil, thoroughly mixing it. Transfer the sugar scrub to an airtight container, where it will keep for up to 1 month.
