No joke, when my husband came home from work, he took one look at me and said ‘what happened to your face’? This of course was because the turmeric had stained my face a nice orangey yellow tint. Luckily by the next day, it had mostly returned to normal, and I didn’t look so much like I’d had a mishap with tanning lotion. But I was kind of bummed that my idea of mixing turmeric and honey together for an anti-inflammatory facial clearly wasn’t going to work. However, then I remembered my Creamsicle Calendula Body Lotion and how soothing the calendula was. So it was back to the drawing board but this time with calendula in place of turmeric. This time the facial mask worked beautifully with no Oompa Loompa like side effects! Since calendula is still quite orange, I wouldn’t use this every single day to be on the safe side. But I have used it every other day for a week without any hint of orange in my face. Although I have to say, my personal preference with facials is to keep them rotating to mix things up, because different types of facials have different benefits. The only 2 I use repeatedly back to back are my Pineapple Facial and a 1-2x per week my Baking Soda Exfoliation. Everything else I like to rotate to get different beneficial effects for my skin.
