The secret ingredient to the fruity goodness of this lip balm is freeze dried fruit. I started using it in lip balms back with this Strawberry Vanilla Lip Balm. And ever since, it’s hard not to just create fruit based lip balms now! Today’s Pineapple-Mojito version is perfect year round. But with it’s minty freshness, it’s especially great in the summer months. And as fun as it is, it’s also functional with great conditioning properties to keep your lips smooth. I’ve found jojoba and coconut oil together to be a powerful combination for lip balms. There’s just something about those 2 oils that really moisturizes my skin well, and I hope it will work just as well for you. Then with just enough beeswax to hold it all together, it helps to create a glossy lip balm that has some longer lasting conditioning as well.

The last step is to transfer it into containers. I really prefer these small ones pictured that I get from Natural Grocers. They keep them over by the essential oils/bath & body section. No reviews 2 Tablespoons jojoba oil 2 Tablespoons coconut oil 1/2 cup freeze dried pineapple tidbits, powdered, 15 grams Drops of peppermint essential oil, add 1 at a time Stir in the powdered freeze dried pineapple, then pass the mixture through a fine mesh sieve. Over an ice bath, whisk the mixture constantly just until it barely starts to thicken up. This helps to make sure it’s completely emulsified. Then remove from the ice bath and add the peppermint essential oil in drop by drop until your desired scent is reached. Be careful not to overwhelm the fruity scent with the mint. I personally like between 3-5 drops. Portion the lip balm out into containers. Seal and store in a cool dark place for up to 3 months. Changes in temperature can affect the texture of this lip balm.
