You can also just season the steak with salt and pepper, but a touch of garlic and olive oil adds a lot of flavor and helps the steak to brown nicely. Bonus tip: allow your steaks to come up to room temperature for 1 hour before cooking, this makes for more even cooking. You’ll find a temperature guide for beef below in the tips section.
